How much do you markup the following items for a brick and mortar screen print/embroidery shop? Trying to get a sense of what people charge to be competitive.

1. T-Shirts
2. Polos
3. Sweatshirts
4. Jackets

Also, is there any formula on how to figure out screen printing and embroidery charges? I just took over a screen print shop and I think the owner just made prices lower than competitors in the area, not what it actually costs us to produce and make money.

Thanks!

There are a lot of ways to do this but one I like is to figure out your hourly cost to stay open and come up with and hourly rate to run for each process and then you can start pricing jobs.

I'm rather new I outsource printing which I mark yo 50cent a color so my profit comes from art and garments. I marke up T-shirts 100%. In its fancy and cost over $5 I just mark it up $3. Polos and sweatshirts $4-$5. Jackets not sure of yet. You also have to consider whit or color make or female as well as quantity.

Go to custom ink or the popular print site people may use around you and compare and figure out there method for pricing....
