T shirt fit and feel

I got a bunch of samples the other day and was wondering if anyone knew of a shirt that has a similar feel to the American Apparel 2001 but fits like the Alstyle 1701. Their both ringspun, but the 1701 must not be combed cotton or something because it feels pretty rough compared to the AA 2001, but I do like the fit of the 1701.

I haven't seen a shirt softer than the 2001's. We primarily use 1701's, But when there is a color I need that Alstyle does not carry, I use an upsized 2001. (If I need a medium, I use a Large). Works great in men's, not so much in women's.
The major difference if I remember correctly is they are different weight shirts. The alstyles are a heavier weight garment.

Has anyone tried the Anvil 980 - it's a preshrunk combed ringspun 4.5 oz? I wonder how that one would compare.

Basically any 4.5oz ring spun tee you find out there will have the fit of AA, not Alstyle, including Alstyle's own version of their 4.5oz AA clone.
