Aren't you close to San Diego?
We are about 1/2 way between the two...50 miles or so in either direction will get you to SD or Orange County...
I guess it depends on where in LA he's talking about.

True...its all somewhat relative...you can drive for two hours easy with no traffic and still be in 'LA'
If you drove East to West for two hours in NJ, you'd be half way thru Pennsylvania.
