T-Jet 2 on a Mac?

I just got back from a long vacation. My shop runs 3 PCs and a Mac. Well the PCs all updated and updated their anti-virus databases etc. Well low and behold 2 of the PCs went down. I finally fixed one of them and got it back up and running. The other one is pretty major. Not too bad for just doing a few updates huh? Anyways the Mac which we use for our Dye Sublimation never goes down and never has a problem. I am thinking about buying a new Mac to run the T-jet 2. I use EZ Artist and EZ Rip, are there any versions of Rip software that are made for a Mac and compatible with the T-Jet 2? This rip software will also need to integrate with Photoshop.

For anyone wondering:

The T-Jet 2 computer is running Windows 7 Premium
Another one of our office computers runs Windows Vista Ultimate
The other computer which runs out Metaza photo impact printer and invoice system runs Windows XP Pro and that didn't go down and actually never has either. The biggest problem we have is with the Vista machine.

For all those that have mention Linux: When we first started our business to save money with all of the software and computers we tried Linux. For the most part it ran great. Unfortunately no Photoshop available for it. We tried Gimp and Pixel and a few other programs, nothing worked for us. We also needed publisher for our catalogs that we send out to get published and on Linux we tried Scribus which was no good for us. We actually purchased Corel for Linux and believe it or not it wouldn't work on Kubuntu. We stuck with it for quite a while until Kubuntu's "wubi" got corrupted and destroyed everything we had on Linux so we got rid of it completely. We've actually had less problems with our Vista nightmare compare with our Linux trials.

We're open to try anything but in our experience Mac OS X is rock solid and stable.

Thanks for any suggestions or advice.

Get the Mac. Also get Parallels ( sells for about $75.) When installed
you will be able to run all your programs on one computer and switch back and forth from Mac OSX to any Windows OS you install.
Continue making your designs in photoshop or illustrator.

Jim,

Just out of curiosity which anti-virus software caused the problem?
Jon to answer your question: Vipre & Microsoft Security Essentials (formally OneCare). We used to use McAfee but it would bog everything down when running a scan. Vipre does the same thing. MS Security Essentials is awesome but it is also free so I doubt it is very strong protection. I believe I have fixed the problem using Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, I have run the Anti-Virus 4 times and it is no longer picking anything up. I'm also not having all the browsers redirect to weird pages and programs crash when opening them. Knock on wood. The other machine went down due to some auto update that didn't agree with some software I have. That is fixed now too.

We actually made up our minds and will be getting a Mac. It was frustrating coming back from a long vacation. We finally fixed the computers that went down but it looks like the T-Jet 2 is going to need a new print head......

Thanks like I said just curious what type of software was auto updating and causing you problems, we use Avira antivirus (yeah it's free) but seems to work well, we also use malwarebytes which is another good program.

Sorry to hear about your print head? I thought you flushed it out before you left? did you leave cleaning solution in it?
