When I start the machine it does one stitch and then moves to the start point and starts sewing. This happens on all designs. There is no stitch at that point. The machine is just doing it.

Any thoughts on how to fix this? This started after I upgraded the software.

In your embroidery software you need to change the start point. You may have it set to the center, look at your needle commands and you need to eliminate the first needle command.

Yes I can confirm this. Your digitizing software has set the first stitch to be the center, then it does a cut, and then goes to the beginning of your design.

Our 1204 does the same thing... it doesn't trim after that first stitch, but it does always make one long stitch then continue sewing the design as it should.

It just started doing this after we upgraded the software. The same designs that it didn't do this before, now do it.

yes, when I upgraded it changed my designs to default settings. All you need to do is change the first needle setting.

I don't know your software so can't help you with direct command settings. But, its set to begin in the center.

reformatting the machine and reinstalling the software solved the problem.
