Sometimes when I open up a SVG file in Corel X4 they are messed up.
There will be part of the image offset and just lines.
Attached is a jpeg of what I am talking about. Sometimes its bigger and more lines. Just one example.

What software is being used to create the SVGs? Are you just downloading random ones off the internet or taking them from a customer? If a customer, you could ask them to save into a different format if they can.

You might want to install Inkscape and see if it opens them correctly.
I usually re-save them as an "emf" file, then import into coreldraw. Works better for me.
I downloaded from another board. Were created by other users. Only fubared in corel. Opened them in AI and no issues with them. I saved them in AI and them opened in corel and were fine.

Doesn't matter if I import or dbl click and open in corel or drag into corel. Got that fubar on them.

Guess its one of them funky corel things. I attached them if anyone would like to see if it happens to them when opening them.

As far as I know they were created by users and given out to be used so no copyright if wondering.

My guess is Corel doesn't handle SVG files very well. I opened it in X6 and still get the same issue. I can't find anywhere in the settings that would allow you to change the way it opens the file.
Opens fine in Inkscape as well. Kinda weird, really.

Kinda makes me wonder what the best file format for universal compatibility between Adobe, Corel, free (Inkscape/GIMP/etc), and proprietary cutting software for various brands of vinyl cutters is (for cuttable outline artwork, anyway).
Does it ask to import as text or curves?
Nope doesn't ask anything.

Well that makes me feel better cuz I was thinking my Corel was fubared again and was thinking I might have to reinstall.

Thanks for checking them out.

You can try and go into your custom settings to take svg files..just like taking in .eps
I use X3 not X6 (which may make a difference) but I opened them up in Inkscape, saved them as an EMF (enhanced metafile), the imported into Coreldraw with no problems.
I have had the same issue with vector files from Dover Clipart. I think it has to do with the number of nodes in one of the shapes. I open it in Inkscape, copy to the clipboard and paste into Corel, or just resave the file and import the new one into Corel.

This imported into X6, no problems.

For some reason CorelDraw has an issue with them.
Also, Paintshop Pro X4 gave an error when I tried to open with that, said it was an invalid SVG format.
