Hey everyone,

Im thinkin about purchasing a Summa d60 but i know nothing about them. Besides the obvious, I hear they are good machine and are reliable.

A person i know is selling one and is newly divorced looking to get rid of he ex's stuff.

I would like to know how much i should offer for the cutter and whats a good price. I obviously want as cheap as possible.

What would you buy a used Summa d60 for?

I threw out the $200 number but shes not sure about how much they go for either

hello, there are 3 types of d60

1. the latest one with the knurled grip roller and the opus eye
2. the new one I think its an 'FX' or a RX = WITH opus eye - the gripper at the head end doesn't slide like above the roller is a slot similar to the other end - rigid for widths!!
3. and the earlier non opus eye, but knurled roller for scraps

I know I a bit late to the party here, but I thought it still might be useful for others to know that the D60 cutter is now only available in Europe. The most applicable model here in the US is the D75-R, which offers a slightly wider cutting width at 30" versus 24" on the D60.

The D75-R now comes standard with our optical positioning sensor, OPOS X, so contour cutting is no problem. Also, the D75-R offers a slightly higher cutting speed compared to the D60(44 ips versus 33 ips).

An old D60 would certainly be a great plotter to get started with and should be more than capable of cutting plastisol transfers, flocks, twill, etc.
