I would suggest epson printers. The workforce 1100 is good, but it has been discontinued so it is hard to find but you can still get one for under $150.

You can get refillable ink carts for your epson printers at cobra ink.

I sent you an email with more detailed information on ink.
Do you have problems with epsons clogging? After I read a lot of forums they tend to be more towards the Ricoh but like I said I don't have a clue either way which is good I just want a reliable printer that isn't going to break down on me every week. Thanks for the info
I also called Epson and they said the recommend not using sublimation ink in any if there printers.

You will get the same response from any printer manufacture. Think Ricoh would recommned their printers be used for dye sub when there are threads of many users printers frying becuase of the use of dye sub ink?

Comes down to, regardless of the printer, are you going to use the printer on an on-going basis? If not you would be wise to have someone print for you.
the epsons are the best but yes putting in ANY kind of ink other than OEM ink will void the warranty. Even epson inks clog the print heads. If you read my pm I told you where you could get ink that won't clog you print head (at least not as fast as sawgrass ink will), but you still need to use it every few days to prevent the ink from drying on the head.
Rolland, where in the world are you??? - different locations have different availability on printers and good sublimation inks.
Thanks for all the great information, I'm in Canada if it makes a difference. I have been searching high an low for the Epson workforce 1100 and can't find it cheaper than 200 any ideas? I plan on using it quite regularly for my case printing and off and on for other products
I got my 1100's online.. one from Staples and another one from Office Max (both on sale - one for $99 and one for $137). Have you checked ebay or amazon.com? The printer has been discontinued so it is getting harder and harder to find. It was over $200 though. Keep your eyes out for a sale.
What about the Richo printer, Is it a good one?
Don't waste your money on a ricoh. You will be stuck with sawgrass ink which will destroy the printer.

IMO the best way to start is with the new Ricoh SG3110DN. For around $500 or so you are up and running and you will be printing on the first day.
