Most issues that arise from color differences are usually associated with Color Profile(s). Are you using one?

Post images if you have any. It helps. What printer/ink brands are you using?

You could also being using the wrong time/temp/pressure. What are you using for those?

It can be confusing starting out even with a new system and even more so, if it's a used system.
Hi the printer is a Epson xp 412,(my friend was using it all the time no problem) but cant ask him as hes moved to oz out in the sticks And the ink is Inktec Sublinova Smart Dye Sublimation Ink Set 4 Colour for EPSON (100ml samples)
I used the temp at 170c and 20 sec timer
i read about profiles but have not set any yet as its all new to me,
what time and temp would you recommened,
i have attached a pic of the logo and a pic of the mouse mat i tried doing as you will see from it the little logo looks a bit more gold/yellow
i just must be something im not doing right, wife said not bad for first go
many thanks for your help

Try pressing at 200(C) for 60 sec with Medium pressure. Main thing is, I don't think you're pressing long enough for the image to sublimate. But you may still need a color profile to get the colors right.
Hi many thanks, didnt want to press for too long incase i burnt it, will it burn

chris
It shouldn't. Trial and error is what we all go through. Start with those settings and go from there. If the black turns brown, then you'll back down the temp to 190(C) and time to 50 sec, etc....
Great will give it a try, tomorrow

Save messing up too many mats by cutting them into 4 and reduce the size of your image, you can also cut your sheets in half and send them through as A5's they'll still print perfect until you dial in the settings

Looks 'OK' but the colors could be better. You'll most likely need a color profile to get the colors more exact. It's not software that is installed on the printer. It's something that's installed on your computer, so if your friend was using a color profile, it would have been on his computer and it's something you will need to get for yours as well. The ink supplier should have this color profile.

You can do like @Dekzion said earlier to save on mousepad spoilage....
