I reclaimed a couple of screens that got shoved behind some other stuff some time ago (about 9-10 months). After cleaning them, I noticed some strange marks on the mesh. It looks little spots of emulsion that won't come out. I even tried using some Haze Remover on it, but nothing seems to remove it. When you run your hand across the screen, it feels smooth. Not sure what happened, any ideas????

If the emulsion gets contact from stencil strip (or certain other chemicals) and then the chemical is allowed to dry before being washed off the emulsion will cross link and gets locked in and will be very dificult if not impossible to remove. Maybe the screens got splashed?

Your either reduced to using those screens for smaller images that wont be in the areas of the locked in emulsion or getting them re-stretched.

You could try rubbing with a bit of acetone on a cloth but if the caustic haze remover didn't get rid of it your probably out of luck. Don't be tempted to leave haze remover on for longer as it eats away at the mesh.
