Here is the deal, Im looking at starting a clothing line and I have been brainstorming so much that I think I am over thinking and not making any moves. At this moment I have scetched my design and have others in mind, but I can't draw! :( Is this a major problem? What are my alternatives? Please help!

Hire a graphic design artist to bring your ideas to life. Better yet start to learn some photo software. sometimes easier to use both, I draw, then put it in photoshop to clean up and add to. One nice software you can down load and use for free is Gimp. the tools there will familiarize you with other better photoshop stuff when you can buy them. good luck!

Analysis paralysis, lol. Been there, it's a good trait but can stall you as you are experiencing. You don't need to know how to draw, but you do need some basic pc skills, and an eye for what might be attaractive to potential customers.

I did exactly what was already suggested. I copied and pasted a bunch of pictures into word to give a basic look to what my vision was. I emailed them to my cousin and her boyfriend who are graphic designers and bada boom. There you go. If you don't have a cousin who does graphic designing like I do, look locally on craigslist, junior college or universities and see if you can get someone to help.

Professional designers are not cheap because, well they're pros! But I bet you'll find a lot of people willing to help. Just as csaluone has offered up their assistance.

Back to analysis paralysis. I got the idea in Feb to do my own line, print my own shirts, and start an e-commerce site to sell them. I'm now two weeks into my site being live (and I don't even have my printer yet). My point is, take action and things will start to roll. ACTION makes the world go 'round. :)

It's OK to overthink things, mostly if it's a serious business idea like yours and mine! I've been researching, studying and plotting how, where and why for the last 2 years....and I haven't made a move yet. I have enough funds saved up and know how I want to start, but I'm a little anal about launching my brand and want it almost perfect...which will never happen...lol

I say start out with a business plan first and layout your designs, who you're trying to target (niche market), how much $$$ you think you need, what shirts you want to use, printing method, etc....the list goes on and on

There's really no steps to follow, but I personally wouldn't put sketches at the top of the list when wanting to lauch a clothing line.

Best of luck though!!!!
