I'm starting Screen printing as a hobby, I just don't know what I need on a few things.

Should I get a 4 color press? or what?
Separation software?
Art Software?
Type of Inks?

I have a good grasp of normal stuff, but I dont know about these items because I haven't really printed before.

Any other help would be awesome as well!!

Thank you!!

When I started as a hobby which I’m still in that phase lol I purchase the ryonet starter pack for 200 bucks. Not a big investment and it will get you started at least. From there I would look into a multi color press if you’re still interested in making shirts after you actually made a few.

Hope that helps a little!

As far as design software, I like Corel Draw over photoshop. They have loads of tutorials and can vector your image without having to have Illustrator. They have a monthly subscription or you can buy yearly. They give you a free two week trial so give it a shot!

Photoshop is the industry standard. If, as you say, you are just beginning with graphics work, then my suggestion would be to start learning with software you know is always going to be at the forefront instead of having to change over at a later date.

Photoshop is one of the best tools for screen printing / t-shirt designing, you can use Corel and prefer it over Adobe. It is simpler to use and so far has done everything you want. you can prefer (Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop).

Hope you got it!
Thanks!
