Okay, so i'm starting a tshirt business and I want it to be similar to Crookes and Castles or Diamond Supply Co. So I was curious what kind of ink i should use when printing? considering most of my designs are darker colors or black. Also what printing method should I use? I considered DTG printing, but it isn't good with darker colors. My plan is to start selling online first, so i would like to be able to produce these out of an apartment, I do have a larger room I can use however. Also what tshirts would you recommend to print on that would have a more modern fit like those of Crookes or Diamond? Also what graphic design program would be the best for a starter? I do have experience with Adobe however. Any and all help would be appreciated! thank you!

I would think working out of an apartment will limit your choices........
DTG would be too expensive unless you have a market for at least 20-30 shirts a week...just do the math
Screen printing is likely out because of the odors and disposition of waste, wash out etc
So that will leave either transfers that you outsource or in house inkjet transfers...good for white/light only or sublimation...good for 100% polyester and white or pastel only.
I doubt you will reach your stated goals from an apartment.....This is a tough biz to get a toe in but can be done.
There is not really a 'good' program for beginners and still get a good product. Get either Corel or Illustrator as they can produce a file that most companies can work with. You will need to become proficient in one of the programs to progress
A couple of suggestions...avoid going into debt ...save and then buy. Thinking you will start by making enough to pay CC or bank loans or lease payments may be difficult. Also make a business plan with realistic steps to progress.
I should add that you should get the proper license and permits for your area. I could suggest your landlord approve...
Good luck
