Greetings All,

I am new to the forum and to the t-shirt market. I am seeking guidance in the area of material and templates.

I currently own a copy fo the Adobe CS3 Suite and the Corel Draw Design Suite X4.

I have been surfing for a t-shirt software which will allow me to either customize a pre-existing template or drop an image into one.

I will be using a Heat Press Transfer machine to complete my product.

I have purchased 2 supply orders of 8.5x11 transfer paper from ProWorld. Does anyone have any suggestions on transfer paper that has a lasting presentation after washing.

As of this date, I have been unsuccessful finding a shirt template short of the Hanes T-Shirt software.

Thanking you in advance for any support you have to offer.

you would be surprised at what you can do with Adobe and Corel, take some time to study the software and it will out do hanes t-shirt maker. I never liked hanes because it was too generic. I actullay think you can use any of the software you have and even pub to get started. As for paper good luck I switched to screen for that very reason. Remember you are using paper and a press do not expect the same feel and color stay as a screenprinted t. If you want a quality feel you may have to outsource like to transfer express. but I think if you remain realistic you will be okay

I tried Hanes T-Shirt Maker a looooooong time ago and it did not seem professional to me. It gave me the feel of being a hobby rather than a professional business. I purchased Corel Draw and once you get past the learning curve you will be able to do anything design wise that you can imagine. The key is learning the software. Becuase I am not an Artist by any means I purchased the Advance Artist Corel Tutorial and it has helped me tremendously. Also, I give thanks to those knowledgeable people here on the forum because they are always happy to help.

As far as droping a image onto a shirt template several templates have been offereed on the forum for free. Search t-shirt templates on this forum and I am sure you will get several hits. Also AdvancedArtist.com has a t-shirt comp generator available for download for free that should help as well.

The different transfer papers have been talked about alot on this forum. You will get an opinion on each type as each member have there favorite. Search this forum for tranfer paper and you will have enough to read for the rest of the week.

Welcome, and good luck!
