Hi,
I powered up the printer for the first time this evening but am running into a bit of an issue that I am having a hard time figuring out. One of the cartridges needed to be replaced. I went ahead and replaced it but the ink error is still there. Any ideas as to how to fix this. I am sure its not the only error I will have but it seems to be preventing the printer from starting up.

When you turn on the printer and he start up initiall sequence, when asf mod start running you must find exact time to hit PE sensor, it will give you solid green light. from video you posted here you have general error. try to find exact time to hit pe sensor and every thing will be ok

thanks goto74!

I tried so many times to get the timing right for hitting pe sensor but still the same error. I am starting to question if asf mod is doing what its supposed to. Here is the short video of asf mod during start up. It just does a quick flicker back/forth.
Approximately when should the pe sensor be triggered?

To me it is not look like your asf work correctly, when main axle start to run and platen go forward 3-4 centimeter then hit Pe sensor. platen must stop then and initial sequence will go on, maybe you make something and burn main board assy so now it not recognize ink cartrages. I did that on my first built.

Hard to tell without being in front of the printer to diagnose, but if you have skype maybe we can get to the bottom of the issue? I have a suggestion you might try..;)

Hi German13, Thank you for offering a helping hand. Your kindness and hard work is much appreciated.

I went on to read much more on my on and I realized I didn't do the asf mod. the one where you take the middle sections of the tray out and join the ends together. I merely took out the electronic board at the side and attach it to my main frame. Sounds silly, i know. hahaha :p

If it still doesn't work, or if encounter other problems and errors, i'll post some pictures and videos and require your expertise as well as many other forum members invaluable experience.

Thank you all very much. :) :)
