I am new to this website, and I am also new to the t-shirt business.

I am trying to start a new clothing line and my obstacle right now is finding blanks.

I looked on AAA and found that they require a resale certificate and sales tax ID number. I do not have either and was wondering if there was a way that I can receive blank tee's from anywhere without a resale certificate or tax ID #. Thank you.

Thanks, i appreciate the info. definitely going to check those two websites out. If you know more specifically, anyone that sells AAA that would be perfect. My friend gave me a tip saying that AAA was the best blank on the market so I guess you could say that would be my ideal brand for blanks . thanks, again.

I don't know what this "clothing line" of yours is supposed to be like but you want the best blanks without setting yourself up properly like the rest of us?

Just get a business license in your state. It takes a few minutes to fill out the application and costs a small amount of money. (In my state it's $18 and the license is good for two years...) If you'll be selling any shirts within your state you'll need that anyway so that you can collect and remit sales taxes.

I do want to get a license, but i was thinking my brand does not need one due to me not having a website, store, or any form of establishment. I take it as you, and everyone else who commented that i must get an ID, has received an ID prior to having any sort of establishment for your company ? & if so, what other forms of identification/certificates would i need?

Wrong. Most all states require that you have a resale tax id before you can sell anything to consumers. The exception to that in some states would be if you had an occasional garage sale and I take it you are not going to sell your clothing line from a garage sale once ever two months or so.

In my state the DBA is $26.00 and good for 10 years. The Resale tax permit is free.
