Has anybody used a router or joiner for sharpening squeegees? Anybody has any DIY plans for a sharpener beside using sandpaper? The sandpaper route doesn't work for me. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
You need a bit that is wide and you have to go very very slow or it can chunk the squeegee I have used a router with a router table. The quickest DIY is to take spray adhesive and first 80 grit sand paper and spray to a surface the rub the entire squeegee across the surface. Then do with 200-2000 grit sand paper. The squeegee sharpeners are just a big belt sander with a place to rest the squeegee.
Could you take a typical belt sander and mount it upside down in a table... similar to a router table.... then push the squeegee across like you would a wood Jointer?
