I am new to the forum and appreciate any help. I have been in the sign business for over 2 years now and have purchased the Digi knight Combo heat press. I ordered some thermoflex which is great but does anyone know how well this holds up in the long run? Also I found a material at a much lesser price called spectra cut. Does anyone know the difference and am I looking at an inferior material here compared toi thermoflex. I built my sign business on quality and I want to do the same with my new shirt venture.

Spectracut isn't an inferior material. It is actually a material that is guaranteed to outlast the life of the garment, as most heat ransfer vinyls do. However, there are some differences between Thermoflex and Spectracut
  • Here they are in short:
    • Both materials are 15" wide.
    • Both are sold in 5yd increments.
    • Spectracut is less expensive.
    • Standard Spectracut does not have a sticky backing, Thermoflex does.
    • Spectracut, in my opinion, is easier to weed on larger designs and text.
    • Thermoflex weeds better on detailed work.
    • Standard Spectracut has a little more thickness on the shirt.
The Spectra EZ-Weed or Spectracut II would actually be closer to the likeness of Thermoflex. Very thin, soft to the hand materials with great opacity.
