This issue has been slowing down my productivity on ink-heavy print jobs so I was wondering if anyone has found a solution or work-around for this. Basically, any time I'm printing an ink-heavy image (i.e. typically over $2.00 in 'ink cost') I can only get through around 4 or 5 shirts before the 'Ink' light flashes on the printer and I can't print anymore. At that point I have to turn off the printer on the back, wait 10 seconds, then turn it back on.

My ink levels are totally fine so I'm not even sure why this happens in the first place. Anyone else having this issue/have a solution?

Travis, this is something that all Epson based machines will have to do at some point. Basically the flow of in through the head is monitored and when the same amount of ink has passed through it as an Epson cartridge it sends out a message for the cart being low and then empty. Now with all printers I have worked with I have to say yours handles it very quickly and it takes much longer to trigger. The past company I worked with the low in would go off about every 3 prints and take over 5 mins to reset. Some others you need to replace a chip each time. Yes you will notice it more on large prints due to the ink volume. If you let the print do its thing and reset its self its like 30 seconds at most. and your printing is resumed. some printers do not resume and you are stuck with half a print. So all in all its something all Epson head using machines go through but it is very minimal with yours. Give myself or Said a call at the office if you have any more questions on it. Hope this helped you a bit.

Travis, one more thing. The next time it does this do not shut down. Let it go through its 30 seconds. I think because you turn It off you may be not letting the full reset take place and it keeps going into it. Then you should many more prints untilthe next reset.

Thanks Paul! I got a walkthrough from Said on how to reset it in the 'Maintenance' section on the printer's control panel on the computer. Definitely a lot faster than manually resetting the printer and having to run through a head cleaning (plus this'll save ink). Good to know this is an industry-wide subject.
