There is no "best" software, its really about preference
Winpc sign 2012pro seems to be getting great reviews I have 2010 and will be upgrading soon (www.heatpressvinyl.com)

We use Corel Draw, export as an AI. import to cut studio and hit cut. Works great

What do you Hate about it? What are you looking to do that it will not?
If you add Corel or Illy you can do just about any thing...

Why do you export it to AI? You can take it straight into cut studio from Corel
Also, Cut Studio is a powerful cutter tool, you cant edit images in it, but you can set it up to do a lot of different things, combined with the printer, you can cut full color images, rearrange you images to get the best cut and save paper, and use rolls or pieces of film. Do you know how to use the program to its fullest?

The question should be why are they not using the plug in for Illy?

When i use the plugin for corel it takes everything on the page. So I just export to the desktop only what I want to cut and import into cut studio.

OK, do you know there is a cut Selection option in CutStudio? With this option on it will only cut what is shown in blue in CutStudio.

You can also just select what you want to cut and it will export it straight to corel, just click and drag to select the art you want to cut

If they are using Illy, they don't need to take it to Corel, just straight to CutStudio. One less thing, one less program.

I was talking to @KB Graphics who said he uses Corel, exports it an AI file then into cut studio.
God, Illy to corel, to cut studio would be a pain in the a$$

what ever software you choose...make sure there are drivers in it for the Roland GX24...not all cutting software has it...also CutStudio is pretty good if you learn it...It has the absolute easiest contour cutting program
Hey guys ive just tried to save AND export a standard easy writing logo i made but cant seem to import it to cut studio.
i used both corel and also illustrator but when i import to cut studio its either bad format or nothing comes up, what am i doing wrong it seems like such a simple thing to do

I just copy the text direct from Corel and then paste into CutStudio.

What versions of Corel and CutStudio are you using? Are you using the plug-in for Corel to CutStudio?

Cut and paste will work. It will place it in the lower left corner. You can break it apart if need to move around or make changes. There really is no benefit in doing an import.
