I have a design originally done in PhotoShop, and now converted to vector via Live Trace in Illustrator. The Live Trace did its job extremely accurately, so that jagged pixelated curves that were in the raster image are still there in the vector image. Is there anything within Illustrator I can use to smooth this jagged curve? Any advice much appreciated.

You can select the line/object and either delete the anchor points, or use the smooth tool. It's a little finnicky, but you get the hang of it.

I went through each design with a fine tooth comb. Line by line. The smooth tool is very handy.

you can also simplify the path. go to object>path>simplify, check "preview" and "show original" then move the curve precision up to around 97% or so. it will show you how many original points and how many current points after they are eliminated. you can also see the original next to the modified.
