That is caused by lint. You can minimize it by using lint remover. Some brand like Gildan and Anvil are known to have excessive lint
Thank you i guessed this was the problem, i did use a lint role but its still i problem. It FOTL Heavy Cotton. I will keep a closer eye thank you.

!00% cotton does have what is called pilling which is more like a small snag just slightly have the surface of the shirt. Use 50/50 which is better over 100%. 50/50 fabric does not have pilling problem and the fiber does not breakdown over prolonged wash cycles. 100% cotton fiber breaks down sooner which will make the image look faded after washed several times.
This is still a problem even with gildans softstyle which is a tighter smoother shirt. Could something else be exaggerate the problem? I'm pre pressing the shirts and rolling first i can not see any lumps yet its still giving holes. I've got my hotronix pressure set at 8-9 as the instructions say heavy press, is this to much pressure? I know 50/50 is popular in the states but here in the UK they are a little more difficult to find.
I was having that same problem when I was hot peeling the transfer as soon as i opened the press.
Now I open the press and wait about 10 sec. then peel the transfer.
Not sure if you tried this.
