I'm noticing dark spots and threads appearing after heat pressing white hats and koozies. It doesn't appear to be coming from the paper, so I assume dark ink is releasing from the fibers in the hat. Has anyone experienced this? Is there a way to avoid this?

Your room is too dry. That is static dust out of the air. Get your humidifier on.

Are you using a Teflon sheet?
If yes, then that's your problem.
Use cheap, single use paper instead.
