im pretty knew to this so excuse my level of understanding.

if i brought a heat press a cutter/plotter and heat transfer what level of detail could i gain from this on my t shirts? how crazy can the designs be? any examples of what people have done with the materials im on about?

With an inkjet, a heat press, and a computer with a good design program, you can print anything on a shirt that you can design on the screen. God Bless.

With inkjets, it's a matter of choice. A general rule, the less the printer costs, the more the ink will cost. I prefer Canon because they are easier to refill. I would never pay over $150 or so for an inkjet except for film printing. I have made a lot of transfers with a $40.00 Lexmark.
