I am about to purchase a vinyl cutter, but I am having trouble deciding. I will mainly be using it for vinyl heat transfer. Please any advice on this? Would the Cameo last me awhile for the price? I am just starting out.

I Have a us cutter and had it for about 7 months or so, just ran it 22 hours straight this weekend only goofed on e and still runs like a champ! I did have to replace the mother board a month ago but was only 80.00 and took 10 mins. Customer service is awesome as well!

I've had one for a couple of years and was going to use it for appliques for my embroidery but it didn't work too well so I boxed it back up. I have tons of vinyl and have been thinking about trying it out for cups, mugs, t-shirts, etc...... It is a very nice unit though. I have actually seen one used for the appliques and it worked great but the type material I was using was the problem.

Well I took the leap, and I ordered the Silhouette Cameo Bundle. I will also be purchasing the Silhouette Connect for Corel Draw to do the direct cutting. Has anyone here used the Silhouette Connect? Also, does anyone have any ideas on a heat press as that will be my next purchase. It will be a little while though before I can purchase one though. I am so excited, can't wait to get my cameo. I really hope it works well.

You've chosen well! 😉 you won't regret it once you get yer hands on it and have a play. I would suggest watching as many YouTube videos as your mind can absorb! As for heat presses, I bought a Stahls Clam Basic heat press. Cost around £550ish I think. Not the cheapest out there, but a great make entry level press. Has served me well so far.

I was contemplating purchasing the silhouette connect software. I just use the free Silhouette software at the moment. Is the connect software around £25?....

Good luck...will look forward to seeing your first projects on here. 😀

Yeah the Connect software is about 25.00. I want to be able to cut directly from Coreldraw x6, and I am hoping that this will work great for me. Yeah, I will have to go on their website and look. I was going to say I have been cramming and saving a playlist of youtube videos to refer back to, lol. :D

Carol!

I saw your post about the Cameo, hope it is still working well for you and that you would recommend it.

If I may ask where you got your deal from and any advice/suggestions you can pass along to me would be appreciated.
