signgo is the name of the program you use to design in?
typically when you open a NEW file in any application a dialogue box will open and ask you what dimensions you want for your document and what orientation as well.....landscape or portrait. if everything is set correctly you should be designing on that art board based on your dimensions input into that dialogue box.
in most applications you can change your document size etc. under file>document setup.
