*sigh* Corel help anyone?

So I created deigns in Photoshop, sent them to my screen printer, said he couldn't open them at all since he uses Corel. Tried everything.. PSD, PDF, yadda yadda. He suggested I download the trial of Corel and redo my designs and then send them to him. I did. Couldn't open them. Said convert to curves and resend.. I did.. couldn't open them.

So I called today and asked what version of Corel he had and he said 4. The trial I downloaded is version 7 64-bit. He said he probably couldn't open the design file (CDR) sine I was using a trial version...

Is that really what's causing it? Since I just started using Corel I don't know enough about it to "help" him.. I don't really want to have to haul my laptop an hour away every time I have a new design to print..

If your printer can not work with PhotoShop file, best to find another printer.....With all the options out there, there is little reason to adapt to a printer that can not work with your workflow.....

Yeh, I know.. I'm just getting such a deal when it comes to cost. No screen fees, fast turnaround, cheapest printing costs of any other printer around..

I just want to make sure that it's not something I'm doing that's causing the problem. Like I said, I'm not familiar enough with Corel to know if I should be saving it differently or whatever.
I agree, I would tell him your going elsewhere to get your printing done... you can't be expected to buy 6 different programs just so he can print your shirt... he should be the one with the different programs so he can print anything that congress through the door... even if he has to re design it in his program

Thanks,
Jeron
Look for a save as version option on the save tab. He probably has version X4 or 14, same same. Not version 4.
Then save under his version. That will allow him to open the files and work with them, usually any special effects are lost or not exported well. Try it.

Ok, yeh it's x4. I saw the option to save as 14, but didn't know that was the same as x4. I'll try that and see..
Just as an update, nothing ever worked. No matter what "version" of Corel I saved as, it wouldn't open on his computer. Ended up saving as a JPEG and sending it over that way. Took a little more work on the back end, but it worked.
