I was told to bring top platen down directly on to pad with no shirt on pad when top platen is hot for 15 seconds 3 times to warm the bottom pad or else the first 3 transfers wont come out properly.
I just want this confirmed or told if I got bad advice, with someone experienced.

Its not going to hurt you by warming up the pad but generally all that maters is top platen, though I would need more specific details on you press, inks ect.

IMO a little extra heat from below allows the adhesive, plastisol, etc. to melt a little more and get a little deeper into the cloth....
