I need to buy a 16 by 20 heat press ASAP but the prices are too high at most places, would I be wrong to buy a press from ProWorld or HeatPressNation.com? Has anyone purchased from them, your thoughts? Thanks!

Proworld is a preferred vendor here on the forums and is very active on the boards and although I have never purchased anything from them, many that have says the customer service is excellent, while those that have had issues, Ed from Proworld jumped right in to find a solution. If I were in need of something Proworld offered, I wouldn't hesitate to buy it.

Sorry I don't know anything about Heatpress Nation. Not meaning they are not reputable, just that I personally don't know anything about them good or bad.

I think is not a good idea, China machines are like "it won't work for a long time, because of that is cheapper" i think you must look at the Brazilian brands, they have great quality with better price than national presses

i don't think there's a "USA" or "BAZILIAN" made heat press anymore these days.

it's either china-made coated with US label brand.... or.....50-50 blend (china parts + usa label and packaging)....

:D

don't get fooled. china made or usa made.... go with what you can afford.

my heat press is chinese made... no-name (i can only see chinese markings on it)..... works well. it's been 3+ years now. $200, that's all i can afford then. :)

Does don't think mean you don't know? Because you've made some pretty sweeping generalizations. Why don't you call up Hix and tell them they are fooling people with their Chinese Made in the USA heat presses, see how that works for you. Do some US manufacturers buy outsourced parts? Probably. But as a rule, USA Made presses are much higher quality, more durable, come with better warranties and give you peace of mind. My thought has always been... If you can't afford to do it right the first time, how can you afford to redo it?

Chinese presses can turn out to be good bargains. But the overwhelming majority of posts from people having pressing problems also come from owners of Chinese presses. My original purchase of a $1200 press from Stahls stung but while others were posting about inconsistencies in their heat, I was pressing shirts that didn't wash out. Recently I purchased a Chinese cap press and immediately regretted it, it was poorly designed and difficult to use plus the timer was super annoying Christmas-like song. I sent it back and bought a used USA made Maxx press which works perfectly, is beefier, just buzzes (no silly music), and better designed.

Personally I would not use Heat Press Nation...but ProWorld would be my choice or if on the west coast I might try heatpressvinyl.
HI Charles.. I am in southern California so I could pick up a heat press if I bought one for Heat Press Nation or Heat press Vinyl.

So I would like to know why you personally would not choose Heat Press Nation? Is it because they carry Vesta (lower price range) instead of Heat

Nation which carries Gecko and HPN ?

PM me if you want,

~Tony

You should buy an American made press. Buy quality and you only feel the pain once.
Hi Wormil.

Since you're more knowledgeable than I could you tell me which heat presses are American made, and which would you recommend. I'm new to this, and although I'm still researching, one thing that is very important to me is using all American made products.

Thanks

I have no complaint on this press, am over one year in and it is heavy but would purchase again. I am looking at other products and like you want the best bang for my buck. Perhaps if on sale this may work for you (I do not work for this company, just a happy customer) thanks for posting there is a sale.:D

PS: I do purchase from http://heatpressvinyl.com/ They stand behind their products, if you are nearby I would check them out.

Thank you everyone for your replies, I should have mentioned I need this for DTG Printing, would a Sunie model hold up and not break down on me? Compared to an $1,100 or higher machine from places like Equipment Zone and other American model distributors? - 16D x 24W Heat Press Digital Screen Printing (Free Shipping) [HP3802L] - $399.99 : Sunie.com, Leading Provider of Signs Equipment.
