Good post David. Cleaning has gotta be the line of attack. I did all the cleaning bit but had to resort to replacing one of the ribbon cables to fix my fault.Clean the head cables and connectors on the main
board. I have fixed this error at least 100 times.
NeoFamily? Are you?I have a Epson 4880 Printer. I clean the ink in the tubes, Print head & cartridges using by cleaning solution. After i clean and switch ON, there is a message on the Printer Display "Service REQ.0001001B"

Can you please tell me which ribbon cable? I checked the fan and its spinning so I am guessing it's a ribbon.I replaced one of the ribbon cables on my 4880 and it fixed the problem. This seems to infer that replacing the little fan wouldn't have!
