Here are some great separations examples with actual photos of printed garments. The print colors indicated don't include white or highlight white. Though not a "how to" they give insight into how images are built and the use of colors. Take particular note on how some are as few as 4 print colors.

OK, now I see what y'all are talkin' about when you are going on about color seps. Even though I'm partially color bliind I can see how that works out. Don't think my software is up to snuff for that kind of work and I don't know that I can afford anything better. Good thing I don't have to make a living doing this stuff huh?

thanks for the post, i always like seeing separations.
note these are digital seps and not the final print. hard to tell what method (sim.proc. or index) they are using on each print.

*after looking further it seems they don't use index (spot or halftone is only listed on the price sheet)

The note beneath the bass print says," All samples shown are direct digital scans of actual printed t-shirt"
