Started about 2 weeks ago when my t-jet2 would not power up at all or would not print even when fastrip said it was printing.

Noticed the lights would sometimes stay lit even when I unplugged the power cord. Found that if I took the back cover off and pulled out the blue piece out of the mainboard( in the photo) and ever so slightly bent the prongs on the bottom side of this to to make better connections it would fix the problem for a while. Sometimes I would have to do this a couple of times a day. Worried that this may be the start of a bigger problem.

So now today fastrip would error out in the middle of a print. The tjet did not show blinking lights and then a window popped up saying "Device driver software not sucessfully installed Epson stylus 2100"

Why would this pop up out of the blue. I made no changes and had been printing for several hours. Also why would it say 2100, not 2200 ?

So I removed the Epson stylus 2200 printer and driver and reinstalled it. But I must not have done something right because it will not print at all. When I try to do a nozzle check it says "Error! Can't print "
And when I try to print an image it errors out in Fastrip immediately.

Anyone have any ideas on any of these problems? Thanks in advance

It appears you may have a defective mainboard.

As a side note - the reason your window said 2100 instead of 2200 was that the printer was made in Japan. Outside of the United States the 2200 was sold as the 2100.

I have now been able to reinstall the driver. I can now do nozzle checks and head cleans from the devices and printers.

But as soon as I hit print in Fastrip it errors out. There are no blinking lights on the tjet. Could this mean there is something wrong with my computer and not the printer?

I'm wondering if I need to just reinstall fastrip since the print errors out right away. I don't think the computer is even communicating with the printer since it doesn't show any error lights on the tjet.

really hoping I do not have to replace the mainboard again. Does anyone think it is a software issue and reinstalling would help. I did have trouble installing initially on my windows 7 computer, so going that route is not something I look foward to either, but if anyone recommends it , I will give it a try.

Back up and running:) Ended up uninstalling and reinstalling Fast Artist and Fast Rip. Thanks a million to Jasper at American Screen for getting me set up again with the dongle issues that I always forget how to deal with when reinstalling.

I do think there is a separate problem with the mainboard, but for now I know how to get it going back up again.
