I was offered an opportunity to do 200 shirts for a local highschool.

The shirts would be navy blue with white vinyl, the design would be about 12x4 inches. Weeding is minimal since its all text except a simple mascot.

What would you all charge for this job including the shirts.

My guess is you could outsource to a screen printer and still pay less than if you were to use vinyl or transfers. And of course it would be much less time for you too. Just make sure you check the quality of the printer first.

Sorry, but transfers would not be any cheaper in this instance and using them lowers your profit. I've rarely found buying transfers to be more cost effective to cut vinyl or screen printing.

I am far from experienced with this, since I only recently just started getting into this myself and still only learning. So this is much more of a question than a rebuttal to your experience.

I am coming up with this. If I look at a 12x12 transfer and figure ganging an aprox size of 4x12 you should be able to get by with 67 transfers. That would run about $80.00 (1.20x67=80.4) add a couple extra sheets for mistakes and some shipping and call it $100.00. So your at about .50 each with transfers. If I am figuring vinyl correctly you would be about .70 each (4x12=48 x .015=.72) with more time in weeding on top of it.

Thanks

$5 per shirt at 200 with a 12x4 design with siser ew and gildan 2000's. Total cost is about $2.44 per shirt.

Add $1.50 for each size 2X and up.

If you use thermoflex and get a 24 inch (or 30 and cut it down) you can lower you cost even more.

Finally, if you go with a less expensive shirt such as a jerzees 5050 or Gildan 5000 you can make an extra buck on each shirt.

job it out to a contract printed and focus on profitable uses for your cutter and press. we all undervalue our time.
I agree if you are at 100% capacity. If not, do the work yourself and keep the extra profit.

If you have to bid this job someone will come in at $5 possibly lower. If you have secured the job and just have to provide a price than I would say between $5.50 and $6.00 per shirt would be a fair price.

Gang printing plastisol transfers and cutting vinyl will have about the same direct costs. Sending to a screen printer will be the most expensive option looking just at direct costs. If this were my job I would get the art approved, and drop ship the t's to one of my screen print partners. I'll take the $350 - $400 and spend the day looking for the next job.

Gildan 2000's are currently running between $2.20 and $2.35 each for Navy shirts. Siser Vinyl prices out at just about $.70 for 4" .
I already got my posts deleted for posting wholesale pricing so I don't know where you get your shirts and vinyl but my costs are SIGNIFICANTLY LOWER THAN YOUR QUOTED PRICES!

And my prices include shipping:D

Hmm where are you all getting your gildan shirts, lowest prices ive seen on blankshrits or jiffy is about 3 bucks
Holy Crap! try TSC or San Mar.

Thankyou Compucap for spamming me your services, I was not looking to subcontract this out, I was just looking to see what others were charging for this job. I dont know what to think about a business who scours forums looking for jobs to try to snatch instead of just doing their own business.

But anyways, MIKE, I'm far west Texas but they might be close enough if their prices are right to just ship em over.

I'm gonna contact some of these other companies that require tax id's and previous purchases to view prices on their sites and see what kind of prices they can give me for 200 shirts
