Hello all,
I am researching starting my own tee shirt business (heat transfers, vinyl cut). Do I have to have bar codes for small retailers (very expensive I hear)? If not, what are the tags I've heard about? I plan on selling in amounts of 10 to 20 shirts per retailer. Also will be selling to sports bars and restaurants etc. (tees for their employees to wear as uniforms). I will have all appropriate licenses from the state and a tax number from the IRS. This will be a home based business one man show (hoping wife will get involved but not required, lol)

The only way to know for sure is to ask the retailers.

From my experience, no, you do not need to have barcodes. Just get their order and send it. Simple and easy. As for tags, I'm guessing you're talking about the tags on the collar, theres a bunch of vendors on this site that do that.
