Selling On Demand TShirts at Vegas Convention Center

I have tried posting regarding selling tshirts in Vegas (I am in Mexico) but so far nothing has come of it.

Does anyone know how difficult it is to set up a booth INSIDE the convention centers during conventions such as NAB, CES, or others?

The idea is to sell tshirts to the conventioneers - a line made specifically for Vegas which appeals to all. I have taken samples to Vegas on a previous trip and people loved them. I have been in touch with the folks at Fremont Street regarding rental of a kiosk but they don't want more tshirts in the area.

If anyone can help with this, I would appreciate it a lot!

Also, I will (hopefully - I have reserved hotel and registered already) be at ISS Long Beach.

Thanks a bunch!

I would suggest contacting someone over the convention center, as I'm sure only a select few knows the guidelines of setting up something outside of each individual convention in the convention center. The only real stagnant thing I've seen at the convention centers are food vendors, security stations, and medical stations, so you might have to approach each company over the convention. I'm sure the big ones like Comdex/CES/etc would run you a small fortune.

I believe the bulk of smaller conventions are now being held at the casino convention centers as well. Unfortunately they most likely already have tons of Vegas merchandise.

If you haven't been to the LVCC's site, you may want to visit this page:

Most vegas Conventions will run you anywhere from $1500 for a 10 by 10 booth all the way up to around $10,000. You will have a hard time even selling enough T-Shirts at one event to even cover your booth fee. We set up at them on a regular basis in order to get our name out there and have never made a profit at a vegas convention just good exposure.

As mentioned already, making custom t-shirts on demand at a high volume venue/convention may not be good.

Perhaps what you are thinking may be more along the lines of buying merchandising rights to specific brands and go on their tours, set up shop with ready made goods like t-shirts and more to sell.

I just saw the new *RENAULT* car evolution expo here in Paris http://www.univers.renault.fr/accueil/ and guess what? I purchased a Renault F1 Team original jacket....not cheap.

But then again, you wont know till you try, right?

Hey Lucy! Long time no chat! Actually, I have an original Vegas idea (everyone has said/heard this at least once in their lifetime) and I think it would be a hit at conventions, as well as in any high traffic location. LOL out of Vancouver is doing some of the designs to try em out in Vegas. We shall see what happens!

Thanks :)

Don't forget We are a Union town here in Vegas. This usually adds to the convention costs because you have to pay the Union to cart in all your supplies and inventory, and this can add up fast. You have to ask yourself how many shirts can I produce in a day? How much do I have to charge for a shirt? When it comes to doing Very Large high dollar Vegas Conventions you usually have to be able to right it off as a marketing expense.

This is the kind of solid info I was looking for - thanks! And if I might ask, how much were you selling the shirts for?
