I am thinking of buying a Screen Printer and was wondering about some things. I am wanting to do signs and t-shirts. I was wondering about screen mesh. What size do I need, can I get one size to do both. I am going to buy the "Silver Press", will it do signs as well as t-shirts?

That piece of junk is designed for a 20x24 max screen. You need a vacuum to print signs. Shirts need plastisol. Signs need air dry inks. Better to start with one or the other, learn it completely, then expand as the opportunity permits. God Bless.

look on craigs list...be patient you will find a better press for a better price...try and hold off for a press with adjustable off contact and micro registration..you can do alot of good with a 4 color to pallet but better off with a 4 or 6 color atleast 4 pallets...i'm speaking from experience.

Signs are done on a press with a vacuum platen like ole Jobe mentions. You can make one pretty cheaply and use jiffy clamps and a small shop vac for the vacuum. Here's mine:
