I hope this is the right section but I just got offered a job screen printing 2000 aluminum powder coated signs with a single color on them. The sign blanks will be supplied already powder coated, so the only materials I'll have is the ink and one screen.

My question is what do you guys think would be a fair cost per sign? I'm not really sure how fast they will go, but I'm guessing they will go a lot faster than an actual shirt because I'm planning on making a fixture to hold the sign in place (perfectly centered), so all I have to do is load the sign, one swipe with the squeegee, and unload. I was leaning in the $1-$2 range, but I'm not really sure.

Another variable is I've never printed on metal before, but from looking around I am confident I can pull it off. The only thing I'm not sure on is the exact ink I need. I was looking at the Nazdar 59000 ink, and am planning on calling Nazdar tomorrow or Monday at the latest to get more information, but it doesn't hurt to ask you guys and see what you would recommend.

Thanks.

You would air dry the inks, do you have space to put 2000 signs? You have to print fast using these inks because they dry up in your screens pretty quick. The 59000 series should work fine.

What's the overall size?

It seems like 59000 takes days to dry completely, in my experience. I'd use 9700 w/ nb70 catalyst. They'll be dry by the time you fill your rack up.

I'd have a tough time getting $1/print, but if you can, go for it. I'd be around .30-.50 at that qty.
