I thought I read some where that on ne screens U should brush them wwater to make them a little,to make the emulsion hold better? Can anyone confirm this.
I just degrease them and let them dry. Then I coat them and they have always been ok. They do make stuff that you can use just for that, I do not remember what it is called.
That's it.... I could not remember what it was called, I used to use this. But I never could tell the difference, Maybe it was just me but I get the same results without it, I use ZEP degreaser from The Home Depot andI dilute it kinda strong and it works great. I make sure I rinse really well and I have not had any problems in years.
Here is what I used to use, I am sure many places sell it.
Direct emulsion adheres to mesh through an encapsulation process. In other words, the emulsion is coated on both sides of the mesh and adheres to itself encasing the mesh in a thin coat of emulsion. If the screen is degreased, using TSP or any screen degreaser (not dish soap which contains oily skin softener), the emulsion will not bead and will spread smoothly. Don't abrade your mesh. The only thing that will accomplish is to cause emulsion and in residue to stay in the screen...that's what "haze" is.
If you are having problems with emulsion not adhering, your issue is very likely improper degreasing, or underexposure.
You can email me if you want further info.
