T-Shirt: Gildan 6.1 oz white tee 100% cotton
Printer: Epson 1430 wide-printer with CISS pigment ink from Cobra
Paper: JPSS 11x17
Cutter: Silhouette Cameo. Scissors and an Xacto knife would help as well.
Heatpress: 16x24 Sunie, 360F/20 sec. I pre-press the shirt for 5-10 sec. I always use a teflon sheet and parchment paper (post-press).

As you can see the colors and details came out amazing! The feel is a little stiff but not as bad as Opaque. I washed some shirts and the stiffness was almost completely gone.

They look really good mate. How did you trim around the detailed characters and the letters to leave a clean look? Did you have to cut the letters out one by one?...
I used a Silhouette Cameo cutter and did a little weeding. I did not realize you can weed JPSS paper at all until I tried it. Very thin so you have to be really careful.

Most of the whites you see in those illustrated graphics are not trimmed at all. The heatpress temp and pressure, type of t-shirt, and quality paper made all the difference so the polymer window is barely visible. Heck I can't even see it even if I try. :)

I have a silhouette cameo, but contour cut all the way through the JPSS by using the card stock setting. What settinsg do you use to weed the paper?...that must be ULTRA thin 0_0
YES, my settings are all set to low. Speed, thickness and blade are all set to 1. Then I use a little weeding tool (hook) that came with Cameo.

Here's a pic of my weeded JPSS

WOAH! That's pretty impressive. But by the looks of the weeded paper, looks like it could be a bit of a nightmare! Also, it must take a while to cut at the slowest speed.

I might have to give this a go tomorrow. Good solution to colourful text...cheers. Will post my results (if I can get it to work!) on here.

Yeah it was quite a chore but that was also my first time weeding a heat transfer so yeah it was a mess lol. Took probably 5-10 minutes to cut that 11x17 paper. Can't wait to see your results!

Hello,
Your shirts look absolutely great! So clean and professional. Thank you for the inspiration.

I am having trouble myself. I have jpss paper, a gecko heat press, epson wf7520 with CISS pigment ink and every press ive tried so far has been unsuccessful.

Would you be so kind as to help me figure out what is going wrong. I've attached the results I'm left.
I've been pressing at 375 degrees for 30 sec.

Hmmm, how do you press the paper onto the shirt? The printed side should be on the shirt.

Yes I am laying the printed side down on the shirt and the line 3G Jet-Opaque side up. I just tried shorting the time, thinking that maybe im burning it. I did 8 seconds at 375 degrees and same result. This glossy layer you can see in the pic, I'm thinkin that thats supposed to come off, but underneath the ink is not sticking to the shirt. I'm thinkin maybe a printer setting issue?

It can't be the printer settings.

Are you sure it's 375F and not 375C?

Your time and temp sounds good to me. Maybe try and get a temp gun to measure the temp of your heatpress. This is the one I have = Amazon.com: HDE Temperature Gun Infrared Thermometer w/ Laser Sight: Industrial & Scientific

Are you sure the pressure is set to heavy?

Yes, 3G Jet-Opaque. Did I get the wrong paper for simple white t shirt designs? I actually purchased both kinds, one for white and light shirts and one for black and dark shirts. Maybe, I'm using the wrong paper for the white shirts. We might be on to something!!!

JPSS is for white's/lights, and is transparent, so doesn't need to be as precise on its cuts.

Opaque is for darks, opaque will have a heavier hand, and also will require precise trimming/cutting, any area that isn't trimmed will be left with white on the shirt (what you see is what you will get when you press it).

Yes, 375 F. And the pressure, it's so much that its tough to close latch down. Thank you for the temp. gun suggestion. I'm thinking now, should I have this on when pressing? This back paper?
Yes. Do not take the backing off.

OMG I am completely excited right now! I must have been using the paper for dark shirts on my white shirts. I'm trying the other paper now!!! Sometimes its the simplest thing. I do not know why I did not think of this. You guys have been such a great help. Thank you a million times over. I'll post results shortly. :)))))))

To clarify further, JPSS would be for the white shirt. You would print the text backwards as it goes face-down when you press it. When done, the backing will come off and the image will stick. The 3G Opaque is the opposite. You have to pull off the backing before you press. You must put some teflon or something between the image and the press. When you open the press, you have nothing to do, the image is transferred.
