Log onto the SanMar website and look at the links just below the main picture. They always have things on sale and also outlet items.

When I was selling screen printing for our sister company I asked our SanMar rep to talk me through the features of the web site and their catalog. It was a really useful conversation.

right, I know about those links, thanks. I just notice that the shirts I regularly buy seem to randomly go on sale. didn't know if this was a calendar type event with their inventory cycles or what. for example I have a couple of larger orders for the sport tek st350 and would love to know in advance that they would be going on sale at the end of the month in order to save a few hundred bucks of the order....just some wishful thinking is all.

I am a loyal SanMar customer. A while back, I called them to ask about pretty much the same thing. They did 2 things for me:

  1. signed me up for their weekly (?) e-mail of their current deals (Value Basics that is also listed on their web site under Products > T-Shirts)
  2. took a look at my annual buying level. Based on the level ($10k ?), they coded my account so that I would always see the prices for piece, dozen and case to be the lowest price (case).
If you want to continue with SanMar and buy a lot of tees throughout the year, you might want to call them and see what they can do for you.

Thanks Joe, appreciate the feedback, maybe I'm getting cheap in my old days but I get the case price already, I have talked to them before when I was going to order just over 1k cotton T's in one order and they gave me a price break of ....a few cents. So while I do appreciate that, I think a sale will get me better results. I have a new hobby! I'll just start watching those sales more closely to see if there is a pattern or not....might make a difference, might not. Always looking to keep costs down.

Think about it. If everyone knew when the sale would happen, no one would buy at the regular price.

If your sale price is predictable, then it just became your list price.

So, it's not likely that a company as smart as Sanmar is going to schedule their sales and then tell everyone.

Just my opinion, I could be wrong.

I have to order ST350's as well. When I called them the other day I asked when the last time they were on sale and it was early Feb. 14, the time before was August 13. She said they don't get any information ahead a time about the sales for the week. Doesn't seem like a pattern there.

I wouldn't doubt that they have a pricing engine that looks at your volume and offers you a price point based on that, their cost, inventory and cost/purchasing trends. You will be ranked against everyone else that buys from them and that is how they arrive at YOUR price.
