Roland GX-24 vs. Graphtec CE5000-60 ( 24" cutters). Wanting feedback on comparison of these cutters. I am a beginner, and not wanting to throw money away. Does anyone have any advice or how long maybe you how used one? Love to have help. Looking to purchase soon.

I had the GX-24 and would sell it in a heartbeat. It was good for short runs, but anything past 30 inches and that thing wouldn't track to save it's life. I turned around and bought the Graphtec and haven't taken the Roland out of the box since. I use ours for Avery yellow paint mask, run off of Corel Draw12.
Hands down, the Graptec is the better cutter for professional use for larger graphics as the GX24 does not track well...but for beginners, it is probably easiest to use...especially for contour cutting
Yeah, I'm more interested in cutting vinyl for heat transfers, stickers, etc right now. Thanks for the advice:eek:
I'd go for the graphtec as welleven if it is more expensive(The graphtec CE5000-60 is slightly cheaper than the GX-24 in our country but then we're nearer Japan).
As long as you are using design software such as CorelDraw or Illustrator, it does not matter which cutter you acquire. A BRIDGE software is included with both. Perhaps of more importance would be support once to buy the cutter.
I have a Graphtec CE5000-60 & love it. It is usually a few hundred less than the Roland & it also comes with the stand whereas the stand is extra with the Roland.

I think it does. I've been hearing negative things about the gx and some of them are posted above.
