The BN20 is not the same as a plotter or cutter.
I use a Roland GS24 and the Roland BN20.

The GS24 just cuts the vinyl and the BN20 prints with ink and then cuts the outlines.

I like both machines and use them a lot.

I will say that the BN20 took me a long time to learn, as I had no machine or print experience.
Also, it’s like having a baby, in that it has to me kept in a temperature controlled room that is clean. You have to keep it running, you can’t turn it off and go on vacation.

Very old thread, but the fact that in the eight years since it was released the BN20 hasn't been upgraded, superceded or inspired any of Rolands competitors to launch a rival machine says everything.



Niche machine for a niche market. Outside of that niche most pro shops will soon outgrow it.
