Ripped off?

2732 Views 27 Replies 11 Participants Last post by  odil1372
I'm not going to post any names right now, to give the person a chance, but I've possibly been ripped off by someone who is considered part of this forum and the family, and I just want to see if anyone else in this forum has recently made any large (multi thousands of dollars) purchases from someone else and has gotten the run around.

It's possible I'm the only one, but usually with people who scam online, they hit a few different people at the same time.

Let's hope this person makes good on the purchase I made and sent the cash for weeks ago.

Really sucks to think that every time I buy from someone on here, I get ripped off. Time for TSF to offer escrow, I think.

Offering escrow is a super idea. Surprised it has not been suggested before.
I just spoke with someone about it (financial advisor) and I guess in order to offer escrow services, you get to be regulated like a bank -- which is why no one does it. Guess I'll look into third party escrow services for future TSF transactions.
Come on Brian,
Among all people you had ripped off? You really should discuss with me before. This is why I am exist. I know couple people who ripping people up. Sheep skinned coyotes. I could be your escrow. PM me on details I will try my best to retrieve your loss. I hate this is happening. Since you post this in NeoFlex I am wondering that person might be one of us. I prey for not us.
Dammmm pissing me off. I hate to see this kind of thread title in NeoLand.
I had similar story with used NeoFlex. One guy post Available in best condition. Buyer send money. That was it. Phone disconnected. disappeared. Hire police lawyer? Lawyer same money will spend without guarantee. police? good luck. No one called me or asked me any.
Cheers! Inks are on me always.
Peter: When the person I am buying from is active in this forum and appears to be NeoFamily, I figured it would be a safer proposition. Looks like I'll end up buying new from All American, if I ever see the money back. The "seller" is offering a refund, but has no way to send it to me that protects me from fees.

Just a lesson that I have to really, really draw up contracts with online purchases. Even with people who appear trusted!
I should be clear: I don't know if this person IS NeoFamily, but they're active in the forums so I assumed it.

They are working on trying to refund me, somehow. As I said, I didn't make a purchase in order to just loan my money at 0% interest for a month to someone else. Really sad -- once I get my Neoflex, I'm putting my real name in my sig line here, so people at least know I'm a real person.

sorry to hear this, Brian! not all of us here are that way; many of us take a lot of pride in helping others and keeping the NeoFamily close and legit. i had a NeoFlex owner stiff me on a job i did for him. he's not on the forums and i don't think he ever even went to training. i just took him at his word, and he never has paid me. so i know how you feel, albeit at a smaller dollar amount.

you can trust Peter and AA, and you can trust the majority of us who make up the NeoFamily, which you will be hopefully joining soon.
Yep, expecting my first Neo sometime in March. Sending my DTG manager and one of my DTG print guys to training in Philly next week. Wish I could go, but a lovely blonde invited me to the beach in Florida those days.

Peter, I'll be hitting you up for an additional hardware purchase, it looks like.
Another one was oversea seller year ago. Germany. Few months old very few prints. Bla bla. Unbelievable price. Worse case than yours. Be careful please. Send me info you never know I can be a help. We did not have any record about seller.
Inks are on me always.
I helped lots of NeoFamily who cannot finance together but who sounds and looks very good. So I went for many cases. Majority are good but always have bad seeds. Not return machine. Begged me for supply on term with real sad stories. I was too weak to say no for few. End up with become enemy. Lol. Ask me to suck his xxxx when I want mine back.
I have many successful stories too and makes me feel alive and happy.:)
I helped many single moms (I grown up under single mom, I had soft spot on them). I help who got divorced with none in pocket. I helped who had bad accident and lost job. I helped who does not have any money but so talented etc.
As Sean said, majority of NeoFamily are best bunch. Always ask me while I know more than lots of people.
Cheers! Beers/Inks are on me always.

Yep, I know how that is!

Personally, I don't finance anything, ever. I bought my cars with cash, I bought my condos with cash, I bought every piece of printer equipment I own (20 years this year!) with cash. Cash is king, and it means I never owe anyone anything.

I don't like seeing print shops fail -- not even my competitors down the street. I'll help them out as much as I can, competition is great for me. Makes me better.

But when I part with hard earned money, the money takes on a voice of its own. It wants to be used productively, not wasted away. My time is worth 10 Neoflexes a year. I don't want to waste my time. I am patient. I don't harass people every hour or even every day when they owe me something. I accept excuses for a long time, but eventually, the money starts getting angry at me, it wants to be put to good use.
Updated the OP to reflect the seller offering to send the equipment this week. I'll update again on receiving a tracking number, and update again on receiving the hardware as requested.

Seller sent a wire refund to my bank account a little bit ago. I declined the wire as the seller said they would ship the hardware purchased this week.

LOL, Typical Irish. I love it.:D
Not lost yet and looks like Brian will get what he wants. What a negotiator he is. Rufuse wire in because he thinks he got best deal in his hand. He rather have hardware than his money. He did this because he start to see other side is responding Kudos! Lol.
Punishment of delay does requires second thought before we whip anybody. It could be snow, sick, accident, family loss etc.
Love wins all. Forgive is beautiful. Fight for faith is the Man.
Like happy endings.
Cheers! Inks/Beers are on me always.
Yep, jeffs a true new Englander, hunt "em down like a junk yard dog, I like the style..

Ditto - a small amount but after emailing numerous invoices, I didn't get paid
Seller ended up not following through on shipping by tomorrow, so I requested a refund. A partial refund has been sent but may take up to a week for the banks to clear it. I am hopeful the seller will send the remainder tomorrow and that both payments clear their bank in a timely fashion.

If you buy on TSF or any forum online, use a third party escrow.

I hope you can find a satisfactory resolution to this issue, Brian. It sucks that there are many people out there who do not value honor. I am a firm believer in karma, so I try to put out as much good karma as I can. :)
I have only ever had 1 issue buying on TSF or any other for that fact. Kevin from easy stone sold me a pirated copy of Corel Draw and refused to refund my money. I think we need to start a a thread with the scumbags who rip people off so that none of the members will buy or support their businesses.
