I am in the market for a new screen press 6/6. I was looking at the RH press and the Ranar Elite. Can anyone tell me which machine would be better than the other?

You will probably be fine with either one. The only advice I would give would be if you are going to go with the RH be sure to get the standard micros along with the joystick. That will give you the ultimate in adjustments.

Thanks for the advise. I think I'm going with the Ranar Elite. It has capacity for up to a 26 inch screen and looks to be a little more heavy duty.

I almost pulled the trigger on an elite press. I think Ranar makes fine products just stay away from any manufacturers entry level equipment if you want this to be more than a hobby.

I had my heart set on a RH 4x6, with one of ryonets packages, when I went to the ISS show, I got to play around with the RH and it was far from what I expected. I felt like it could have snapped in half. Now I know many people use the RH and love them, and I believe they are a good press, but I went with something a little more heavy duty and bought a Vastex V-200HD 6x6. But I never looked at the Ranar presses

I will throw another wrench in the mix. If you have an automatic press in your future I would look at M&R and Anatol manual presses with the Anatol being the better value and better micros. With those you will get used to the manufacturers micros and the platens will interchange with each other.
