should not matter if the stones are similar size. however if smaller stones are next to bigger stones, the smaller stone will not get equal pressure with a heat press. If using a hand wand and applying heat to each individual stone, you should be fine with different size stones also.

I am new to rhinestone designs and am currently just making my designs by hand...and planning on making templates for those that prove popular.
I was wondering if spacing makes any big difference when hand setting stones. I know tight spacing will use more stones and that when making templates I will have to plan for looser spacing. But, when hand setting stones will tight spacing (stones touching) affect the pressing or the long-term stability of the garment?
