I use newman roller frames and was wondering if it was a bad idea to retension already exposed mesh.

With a design already in it? Yeah it will alter your image. I'm not sure how good it will stretch with emuslion holding onto all those holes. Its just a bad idea.

yeah bad idea. it may work for a single color job but it won't take much time to just reclaim and coat again.
