Hey all, I have a quick question I was hoping someone could help me with. When I am selling to my retailer, do I charge him sales tax considering I have already paid sales tax to my printer? It just seems odd to me that the shirts will have been taxed 3 times once bought by a consumer. Thanks for your help!

You need to get a resale number from your state. You will not be charged tax by your screen printer when you present them with a copy of the certificate.

Also, you don't charge tax to the retailer. They charge tax to the customer.

The only time you charge sales tax is if it is to a reatil customer. Your screen printer should not be charging you sales tax. Now because they did you can calim that as a tax deduction as part of operating a business. If you go to office depot and buy suppies the whole amount is a business deduction. But get a resale lic. so you don't get charged from your suppiers.
