Upgrade to sprint head

Does anyone here have the Sprint Model for Anajet and can you tell me how it's going for you? I have the older Model FP125 and I've had issues with it since I purchased it 2 years ago. I am thinking about upgrading to the Sprint head, but I want to know how it prints first.

Re: Give me current reviews of Anajet Sprint

i have the older AnaJet FP125, and my printhead served me well for 2 years. I just replaced it with the newer (r1900) head, and this one is actually causing me some minor problems. so far, i'm able to print through it. we print darks with ease, but i also do a lot of maintenance that isn't taught in the training. it seems to me that DTG companies are petrified that their customers will do irreparable damage if allowed to touch the head, or use a syringe to pull ink through the lines, etc. and they are probably correct, BUT it would be impossible to keep my machine clean if i didn't do some of these things.

as for AnaJet not using Epson parts...just plain old BS. i love my AnaJet, and I've had great help from their tech support, but i laugh at them when they start saying those things. i just tell the tech, "i know you were trained to say this, but you and i both know this isn't true." so what they normally say now is that AnaJet has made some changes to the Epson head to better work in their system. i have no way of arguing this point, but i do know they use Epson parts.

btw, i use DuPont ink from DTGinks.com, and it works great; just the same as the AnaJet ink. hmmm, same ink? i do know that it smells a little different, and the pretreat smells a lot different, but it all works the same.

i will say this, if i keep having problems with my new printhead, and AnaJet doesn't help me by getting me a new one...these forums will hear a lot from me. everything we do hinges on the support we receive from our tech support departments.

Hi,

I am also thinking about replacing my old fp125 head with the new sprint head. Is that something you would recommend?

Yes. Where you get it is up to you. The Teflon coating on the face of the head is nice, as the ink doesn't stick to it like on the old head. I haven't had any clogging problems with it so far.

I've spoken to two techs and heard 2 different things. One of them said there is no upgrade program for the old model to the sprint and the other says it is compatible and they do sell it. The ink head is pricey and I was wondering if you know another company that does sell the head for a lower price??

All you're doing is buying the new head and imputing the printhead code in your Epson Adj Software. It's very easy to do. AnaJet wants around $800 but you could talk them down some. Dan with DTGinks.com has it for around $400-$500. AnaJet says they do something to the head to make it work better within their system, but outside of an electronic adjustment, I can't see any difference. I did go with AnaJet because I figured they'd stand behind it, but if they don't, well, you'll hear all about it. I'm trying to do right by AnaJet in the hopes they treat me the same...we'll see.

Before I do the upgrade, I wanna ask you a few more things because you seem experienced with the Anajet printer. I've been having problems with the white ink as far as doing prints. I've replaced all four tubes and dampers with new ones, but when I do a purge print, instead of getting 4 solid white bars, I get 4 bars all with banding and streaks. I've check the tubes to see if they are all full and they are. I've also soaked the head for about 45 min like Anajet recommended but still getting the same results. The only thing I can think of that might be causing this issue is that the head is clogged or the maintenance stations is damaged and not vacuuming or sucking enough ink through the head. Have you experienced this before and if so what do you think is causing this problem with the white ink? Thanks!
Re: Give me current reviews of Anajet Sprint

It sounds to me like it's your head itself that has blockages. My old head, after 2 years, finally just wouldn't reliably print white ink, and that's why I switched to the newer head. Have you looked, with a mirror, at the face of your printhead to see if it's clean and free of dried ink? You can continue to soak the head with hot cleaning fluid, but it most likely won't free up.

I've check the surface of the print head and it looks clean. Not sure if it's an internal issue. The CMYK inks all work fine. Not too sure what to do.
JoJo I had my original head for 2 years. Replaced it with the new "teflon" and have been very happy with it. You can try to un-clog, but 2 years is a long time for a white printhead. If you are getting the business, just replace and get a firmware update while your at it.

If you've had problems since day one then why are you buying another printer from the same company?

Good question. I've tried selling my printer but haven't had any luck. I know I can generate income with it if I can avoid issues especially with the white ink. But that's probably the only reason why I want to replace the head.
Read the post more carefully. He is only considering the purchase of another head. Not another printer. Big difference between $500 & $15000.
Have you verified that the white ink side of your capping station is clean and working?
If you have to replace your print head than the R1900 print head is the best choice for this, besides the price ;) the teflon coating will be a big improvement BUT remember the same recommended maintenance is still required.

But the Endorsee didn't change. I would just second guess anything from that vendor if the first one was bad. Simply because I'm pretty sure the vendor never had anything bad to say with the first unit so why would he expect different.
AnaJet doesn't make the printhead, Epson does...so are you suggesting he only look at Brother or Kornit? We all know printheads go bad for many reasons, but the company selling the printer isn't necessarily at fault. Now, how they handle the situation is what matters.
Actually the company selling the printer is at fault not the printhead maker because epson didn't design that head to be a garment printhead sorry. If the mechanics of the printer don't coincide with the appropriate way to handle the print head thats Anajets fault not Epson.

No one's trying to point fingers at who's at fault. Doesn't really resolve the issue.
Sorry for steering away. I was just trying to say is if you weren't totaling satisfied with Anajet the first go around why not look into other options. Look deeper into Kornits, DTG, Azon, Brother, VJ's, etc first. It might help educate you a bit and if at the end its still anajet just be happy with the decision. Good luck.
