Hey all

Just prepped another screen, and this one has a few fish eyes/thin spots. I'm 99% sure my degreaser wasn't washed out as well as it should have been — but now that I have the screen, I'm wondering when/how I should repair the spots.

Should I cover the spots with more emulsion NOW, and THEN move forward with my exposure, etc. OR, do I just try and fit my art around the spots, expose, then fill-in afterward with block out?

I save those screens for small prints, like left chest prints.

As long as you can still register the art if you move it around on the screen, I would do that, and block out the fish eye spots before printing.

What are Fish Eyes?

Had some areas that didn't clean out. Ended up using a Dehaser 3 times until it cleaned out.

If you can place the image so that fish eyes not a factor burn screen first then use masking tape to cover affected areas. I use pieces of masking tape to cover any pin holes or registration marks. If you use block out you need to wait til it dries completely. Masking tape = problem solved.

Are Fish Eyes, areas on the screen that the emulsion is too thin, or areas like pin holes?

I use Masking Tape for that too.
