I have just started an order for several vests with sponsor logos done with Gorilla Grip II. Under one of my logos there is a very noticeable wrinkle in the jacket. Is there a way to remove the gorilla grip and replace it after smoothing the wrinkle out? I have only done the 2 second tack down step and peeled the carrier...that is when I noticed the problem. I am considering heating it for another 2 seconds and trying to peel it loose while it is still hot....but thought I would ask for help before making a BIG mistake!

Thanks

If you do not have extras, I would get one ordered. Since the jacket is already ruined, you could try reheating but I would not hold out hope. Since you have only done the quick tack, any change maybe it did not stick well and you can pull it off? You may have a bit of adhesive showing if you do manage to save it. I think Stahls sells a remover but have no experience with it.

You can try the lettering remover or if go to a local hardware store and try an acetate solvent. Of course take proper precautions when applying, but dab on the inside of the jacket and let it soak through to the lettering...after a few seconds the lettering should let loose and you can pull away. You'll need to use the remover/acetate solvent on the outside of the jacket as well to remove any residue.

Hopefully this helps...

Thanks for the replies! I was so aggravated by this and curious if I could fix it that we went to the shop yesterday (our one day off) to work with it. We were able to peel all of the lettering off and remove the adhesive with the solvent. We left it to dry completely while we worked on some other stuff and then pressed a new logo on and it looks perfect...can't tell there was a problem!
Hopefully this won't happen again, but if so I feel a little more prepared now!
